It often does. The marquise has one of the largest surface areas for its weight of any shape, so it can look bigger than a round or princess diamond of the same carat.
Is a marquise practical for everyday wear?
The points sit a little higher than the rest of the stone, so they need a setting that protects them, which ours are designed to do. Looked after, it wears as comfortably as any other shape.
