Statement and Signet ²

A signet is defined by its face: wide, flat or gently domed, and made to be read from above rather than from the side.

Setting a diamond into that face changes the mechanics of the ring. The stone sits flush or close to it rather than raised on claws, so there's nothing to catch and the profile stays low.
